letterpress, linocut atelier b digital pattern, 20x30, edition of 5
The print and its variations focuses on clothing as a vehicule for projection and aspiration. In 2019, my then partner and I created a series of pieces on the theme of work and trade. For one of them, I have wanted to underline the technical and creative work behind the creation and production of an object, specifically, of an item of clothing. I used atelier b patterns as a base and isolated words written about the experience of wearing atelier b clothes for a photoshoot. the words were specifically chosen for their power and expressive potential when juxtaposed. Through combination of imagery and vocabulary, the piece speaks of the work of, by and for women and of invisible work.
